Ani Phyo’s 15-Day Fat-Blast Review: Phase 3, Day 8: That’s It!

YOU GET THE GOLD STAR!

YOU GET THE GOLD STAR!

…and here it is — the final day!  For now, at least…

So here we are — the last day, and clearly the most fun: the plan for today is simple, just pick your favorite meals from any of the past fifteen days.

Or as Ani says, “Celebrate! … Pat yourself on the back. Feel proud that you’ve allowed time for yourself and your health to be a priority.  To celebrate, you get to choose all of your favorite recipes to enjoy today. Beyond being a reward for all your dedication and hard work, this is designed to empower you to start thinking of ways you may like to incorporate the recipes you’ve learned here into the future and throughout the coming days, months, and years… Take time to notice how you feel right now. Read over your journal entries from the past two weeks and review your progress. Note all your challenges, along with all your positive changes.”

BREAKFAST:  Choose any shake

SNACK:  Choose any shake or snack

LUNCH;  Choose any salad

SNACK:  Choose any soup or shake

DINNER:  Choose any soup or dinner meal

SNACK:  Choose any favorite snack

Isn’t that a fabulous day?  We’re going back to rate our recipes and figure out what to enjoy on this day.

If you have the book, you know that  alongside the informational treasure trove the book is, following every day are questions to ponder in your journal.  Keeping a journal turned out to be more useful than it would seem at first glance.  Use your own journal or, like us, use the paperback to make notes.

We plan to take a few days off (still eating only plant-based foods), probably more like a week, and then get back on another two-week course.  When we send Ani our stats and pictures, we’ll post a few here.

So — how are you doing?  Or three better notions to ponder are Ani’s journal questions:

What will you eat tomorrow?

How will you continue to take care of yourself?

Is there anything you’d do differently next time?

This was some ride.  As we’re wrapping this up, we’re watching Forks Over Knives.  Beyond a doubt, a whole foods, plant-based diet is the recipe for good health and a long, healthy life.  And Ani Phyo is one of the great guides.  Thank you, Ani, for this undertaking.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Loved this review. I am currently on day 5 of a 30 day challenge with my sister in law to eat raw. I will now definately incorporate this book and Ani’s plan for a portion of the challenge. Gonna get the book tomorrow. Thanks for the motivation!

How much weight did you loose?

We lost 14, 11, and 9 lbs. The higher loss was the result of sticking to the plan almost word by word. We had cravings early on, but on the fourth day or so things got better. Two of the participants found it difficult to do the entire two weeks, however. So you see, it’s really individual. It’s certainly worth a try, in our opinion.

Nice. I’m following the blog and I’m on day 3, so far i have replaced some ingredients but trying to stick to it as much as I can. Have you gain the weight back once you started eating whole foods again? Thanks for sharing the experience

Hi Isabel, congratulations on giving it a go — make sure you copy of print out the recipes you want; we’re in the process of removing the bulk of them to encourage readers to purchase the book.
Personally I gained back some weight — five of the fourteen lost — but that was because I fractured my foot and was completely immobile for 12 weeks. In the first few weeks I was doing great, but towards the end I started gaining some of it back. Now that I’m walking a little bit more every day, and I can resume some exercising on the rebounderm, I expect the pounds to drop off again.
Good going and keep us posted! We’ll probably revisit Ani’s plan in the new year.

Tell us how you're doing!
